We had two projects completed; our front porch was beautified with the installation of new boards, white lattice and a cast iron railing, and our 1980s washroom which had numerous plumbing issues and cracked shower tile was completely gutted and redone. I absolutely love the matching tile work in the shower and the vanity backsplash. Mike did an excellent job detailing all of the costs associated with the two projects and we even came under budget! I also really appreciated how Mike returned my emails and phone calls promptly whenever I had questions. Mike Leeds was the general contractor for our main floor renovation. Demolition, hardwood installation, painting, trim work and a new kitchen (cupboards, sink and taps, counter tops, fridge, stove, dishwasher) was installed. Mike kept us informed and did what he said he would do and when he said he would do it. He kept us informed at all stages. We hired Sandstone to do an extensive kitchen renovation including cupboards, countertops and knocking down a wall. Sandstone also did a full bathroom renovation from floor to ceiling, fireplace removal in our living room and ceiling paint and refinish on our main floor. Mike was referred to us by friends and was described as being "on time and on budget" and he very much lived up to this description. Mike made us feel comfortable throughout the process, was open to working with us on the pricing and was highly trustworthy. He was helpful in selecting vendors and his subtrades did an excellent job and kept the house broom clean every day. During the renovation, our bathtub was chipped and Mike replaced the entire thing for us. Partway through the renovation, a pipe burst on our main floor (through no fault of the renovation) and we were out of the country. Mike and his team went above and beyond to help us during this time and Mike still made our renovation a top priority when working around the delays this caused. We would highly recommend Mike, and already have to many friends, for any renovation. We are beyond happy with our new home.

I have worked with this company on two separate renovations in two different houses and would not hesitate to hire them again if/when we do further renovations. We first worked with Sandstone in 2010 on an extensive renovation which included two bathrooms, hardwood installation, exterior, deck, carpet, trim and paint. Mike and John were great to deal with and the work that was done was very professional. The second renovation was a bathroom in 2014. I hired Mike at Sandstone for a basement renovation in late 2018. I had 3 different groups price the project and Mike was the most thorough, detailed and was equally competitive on pricing. Mike was able to identify areas to address or problem solve early in the process which I feel saved time and money. He was able to help us source materials to get the quality we wanted and stay within our budget. Mike was regularly on site making sure the project was on track and that any sub-trade work was done to the level of quality he expected. Mike is passionate about his work and it shows. We were looking for a contractor to do a complete kitchen renovation when we found Mike at the Home and Garden show. He was the only contractor of 4 would took the time to provide a very detailed quote which he explained in detail. His promise of on-time and on-budget was bang on and during the course of the renovations he was always there keeping us up to date and giving us great options for upgrades we were considering as well as excellent suggestions. This was truly the most professional and excellent renovation that we could have had and we personally have referred Mike to several friends and work colleagues. In March we asked Sandstone Associates (Mike) for a quote to renovate two bathrooms, a Master ensuite bathroom and Main bathroom, for work to commence in September. The estimate was very thorough and on completion of the work, we were right on budget. Any variation from the budget were due to changes in design made by us during construction. The work was all completed to a very high quality and Mike’s sub contractors were very pleasant to work with. Mike’s personal attention to detail was appreciated. He was responsive to questions and visited the job site frequently to ensure quality. I would highly recommend Mike and Sandstone Associates to tackle any of your renovation needs. My husband and I have used Sandstone for 2 separate projects, the first one a renovation of our rental to get the property ready for sale. Mike and his team re-did 2 bathrooms, the kitchen, installation of new lights throughout, tile work in the front and back entrances as well as kitchen/bath. More recently we hired them to complete a refresh on the interior of our residence with new paint, all new trim work including doors as well as new siding and trim on the exterior of the house. Mike was incredible right from the beginning to the end of our renovation. He developed my mom's basement so I knew he did quality work, and although we did get other quotes, ultimately decided to go with Sandstone because of his high quality workmanship. Mike was very flexible with our changing wants throughout the process and helped us make decisions where we were unsure of what to do. We developed a bedroom (which we had to cut a new window for), a full bath, and wet bar, and entertaining space - all of which Mike was able to plan and do without any issues. He made sure that everything was done correctly and to code to avoid future problems. Him and his workers are very kind and respectful of our home and Mike was always there either doing some of the manual work or overseeing it to make sure it was done to his expectations. We would 100% use Mike again for future renovations. We absolutely love our basement and use it constantly!
